Fatores associados ao aleitamento materno exclusivo em prematuros no primeiro mês após a alta hospitalar

Estudo de coorte com 116 mães e recém-nascidos pré-termo (RNPT), que buscou verificar quais variáveis maternas e neonatais estariam associadas ao início do AME após a alta hospitalar do RNPT. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio dos prontuários e de três entrevistas com as mães. A média de peso dos bebês ao nascer foi de 2130±567,7 g e a idade gestacional de 34,5±1,4 semanas. O início do AME em prematuros foi associado à orientação recebida pela mãe de amamentar exclusivamente o bebê em casa (HR=5,27; IC 95%: 2,26-12,3) e de não usar chupeta antes de começar o AME (HR=3,12; IC 95%: 1,60-6,07). O estudo aponta para a necessidade de orientação às mães de RNPT na internação e após a alta, para melhorar os índices de AME.
