Nurse management of epidural analgesia

Pain is definied as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potencial tissue damage or described in terms of such damage. The use of epidural catheter is one of the most effective tools for acute pain control. In this paper some aspects are reviewed, such as vertebral column anatomy, epidural catheter characteristics, drugs used for epidural analgesia, nurse management and side effects.Downloads
