Abstract

The text addresses the considerations of the German philosopher Walter Benjamin regarding the form of German drama in the Baroque, mainly in relation to the level of sounds, the material singularity of language. From the paradigm of origin and the concept of allegory with which Benjamin's reflections are woven into a philosophy of art in The Origin of German Tragic Drama, questions are raised about vocality in the performing arts. The conception of the voice as a breath hieroglyph, as an allegorical form that establishes a bridge between sensorial and significant senses, points to a relationship with the word as a sound figure, which ceases to be a conventional element and becomes an element that carries revelation.
