Abstract

The present text report is divided into three parts, in the first part the legacies of the recent past of Latin American politics are described, in the second part six aspects of a theoretical nature are addressed that will have a notable relevance in the coming times , the third analyzes the immediate impact of the pandemic on democracy along four axes. The text is of a speculative nature, and its main purpose is to open debates that are necessary in the public sphere and that should not be confined to the academic arena. Some of the points addressed require empirical validation of both their content and their impact.
