Máschara Group: History, Importance and Contribuitions to the Cruz-altense Theater

Abstract

The text that follows addresses the history of the theatrical group Máschara, based in the city of Cruz Alta, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. By aiming to reconstruct its trajectory from its emergence in 1992 to the present, the text seeks to investigate how the Theater, within the social and cultural process, is a means of transformation and an agent of new attitudes for individuals, fulfilling its educational purpose within its scope of action, in the city and in Cruz-Altense society. As a starting point, the account of Cleber Lorenzoni, founder of the group, highlighted the need to provide opportunities for reflection on artistic experiences and the actions carried out, which demonstrates the relevance of theater being more present in society and education, exerting stimulation of critical thinking for both actors and the public.

Adriele Aires Lopes Tonol, UniversidadeFederal de Pelotas–UFPel, Pelotas/RS, Brasil

Teacher of the Early Years and Early Childhood Education in the public and private schools. Graduated in Pedagogy at the University of Cruz Alta, graduating in the postgraduate in Arts at the Federal University of Pelotas, graduating in the postgraduate in Management and School Supervision at IFFAR.

Fabiana Netto Carvalho, Universidade Federal de Pelotas

Teacher of Early Childhood Education in the public school system, undergraduate student of the Graduate Program in Arts.

Bethielle Amaral Kupstaitis, Universidade Federal de Pelotas

She holds a PhD in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, linked to the Visual Poetics concentration area (2016-2020). Master's degree in Visual Arts, with emphasis on Creation Processes and Poetics of Everyday Life from the Graduate Program in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Pelotas (2012-2014). Graduated in Bachelor of Visual Arts from UFRGS (2008-2011). She currently teaches in the Degree in Visual Arts at the State University of Maringá (UEM), also working in the Coordination of Course Completion Work of the undergraduate course in Visual Arts.She teaches disciplines of drawing, engraving, three-dimensional poetics, photography and video for the Teaching of Visual Arts in Basic Education, in addition to undergraduate guidance. She supervises the lato sensu graduate completion work in the Specialization in Arts course at the Federal University of Pelotas.She worked as a substitute professor at the Department of Design at the Federal University of Pelotas (2022) and professor of Painting and Drawing linked to the Visual Arts course at the same University (2015-2016). She was a professor of creative processes in painting in the Postgraduate Course in Arts (Lato Sensu Specialization) at the University of Caxias do Sul in 2019. She worked as a teacher in elementary school, in the public system of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (2016-2018). She has experience in the area of Arts, mainly in the following topics: creative processes, drawing, engraving, graphic and pictorial processes, image and blindness.
