Once Upon a Time in the Studio: Turning Challenges into Artistic Experiences

Abstract

This text discusses a theater experience conducted in a Visual Arts Workshop linked to the Visual Arts course at UFSM. This space is intended for the children of students and members of the university community, functioning similarly to a daycare center. The experience aimed to explore the potential of theater andpretend play as crucial elements in fostering children's holistic development. How can teachers conduct theater workshops? What methodologies can be adopted to ensure that theater becomes not just a distraction but a powerful language for children's holistic development? This experience describes a workshop consisting of seven 60-minute classes conducted in 2022. It involved 15 students aged 3 to 10 and was facilitated by two interns and guest actors. The classes began with the facilitator's careful observation, followed by an activity inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland.Ultimately, the workshop demonstrated that theater can go beyond entertainment, becoming a formative practice for children's holistic development.

Graduado em Biomedicina pelo Centro Universitário Hermínio Ometto. Especialista em Controle e Prevenção de Infecção Hospitalar pelo Centro Universitário Hermínio Ometto. Especialista em Biomedicina Estética. Mestre (2014) e Doutor (2018) em Ciências pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciência Cirúrgica Interdisciplinar do Departamento de Cirurgia da Universidade Federal de São Paulo - Escola Paulista de Medicina (UNIFESP/EPM) na linha de Pesquisa de laser em Cirurgia com ênfase em biologia molecular. Foi Professor supervisor do Estágio em Biologia Molecular e Análises Clínicas do Curso de Biomedicina da Fundação Hermínio Ometto - UNIARARAS. Foi professor da Anhanguera Educacional campus Limeira e campus Rio Claro. Atualmente exerce a função de Coordenador dos Cursos de Especialização em Hematologia Clínica e Banco de Sangue e Hemoterapia do Centro Universitário da Fundação Hermínio Ometto. Atua principalmente em: laser de baixa e alta potência, modelos experimentais de artrite, cultura de células, células ósseas, imunocitoquímica, morfologia e análises moleculares com ênfase em expressão gênica e proteica. Membro Titular da Sociedade Brasileira de Biociências Nucleares (SBBN).
