This qualitative study describes a practical experience with theater workshops for children, aiming to encompass the potential of theater games and their improvisational nature, in conjunction with traditional childhood games and play, as a possible pedagogical tool. The study, grounded in principles of playfulness and child development, used works of art as a starting point for playful activities that stimulated the children's creativity, imagination, and socio-emotional development. The results indicated an understanding of the importance of art as a potential educational instrument in early childhood, especially when experienced through the methodological assumptions used here.
