Abstract

This article explores the relationship between aesthetics and politics, as proposed by philosopher Jacques Rancière (2020), to examine the processes of production and creation, as well as the dynamics of labor, organization, and management within Coletivo Estopô Balaio, located in the far east of São Paulo. The research draws on ethnographic data from a doctoral study in Social Anthropology to deepen the analysis of this thematic scope. For the Collective, theater is not merely a physical space but a social relationship that intertwines labor, artistic creation, and territory/audience. In this sense, the community serves as the foundation not only for artistic production and creation but also for the group's management.

Doutorando em Antropologia Social pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Mestre em Antropologia Social pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Especializado em Gestão Cultural: cultura, desenvolvimento e mercado pelo SENAC-SP. Bacharel em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Desenvolve pesquisas na área de antropologia do neoliberalismo, do Estado e das políticas culturais. Trabalha como Gestor de Projetos na Associação dos Artistas Amigos da Praça, responsável pelo projeto SP Escola de Teatro. É professor/educador popular em cursinhos populares comunitários.
