This review analyzes the contributions of the book Movimento queremista e a democratização de 1945 to the Brazil Republican historiography. Supported by extensive documentation, the author investigates the organization and the impact of the popular movement to support the candidacy of Getulio Vargas on the political scene in the months before the 1946 elections. Michelle Macedo's book provides consistent answers on the popular political culture that circulated in the social organization during the period of democratic institutions after the Estado Novo.Downloads
