Abstract

The ceramometal shear bon strenght was evaluated using two nonprecious alloys (Litecast B and Resistal P) submited or not to oxidation cycles before porcelains aplication. Ten rods with approximately 30mm long and 2,5mm indiameter were cast for each alloy by thermal expansion technique. Five rodas from each alloy were submited to oxidation cycles recomended by manufacturers. After, discs of porcelain were made around the metal rods and covered by a disc of dental stone with 12mm height and 27mm in diameter. After 24 hours, the specimens were submiter do shear bond strenght test in an Otto Wolpert-Werke universal testing machine. The shear bon resistance of the oxidized aloys were statistically different at 5 levei when compared with non-oxidized alloys.
