Comparative study between clinical and microscopic diagnosis

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the difference between clinical and microscopic diagnosis among dental students, dentists and post graduation students. The biopsy records are reviewed of the Oral PathologyLaboratory from Federal and Catholic Dental Schools of Rio Grande doSul, performing871 cases. From the biopsy report we collected the clinical diagnosis sended by the professionals and compared with the results of the microscopic reports. The results were submitted to the qui square statistical test(p>0.01) showing significant difererences in the group of post graduation students which had the better index of concordance between clinical and microscopic diagnosis.Downloads
