Abstract

Atotal of 17 cases of pleomorphic adenoma were studied using an immunchistochemical technique. The purpose of this study is to make evident myoepithelial cells, metaplastic squamous cells, and cells disclosing ductal arragement using cytokeratin of high molecule weight, vimentin, and S100 protein. According to these reports were possible to establish an immunohistochemical staining pattern for vimentin and cytokeratin of high molecule weight with significative statistical differences related to the celular types investigated. in addition, S-100 protein did not show any immunohistochemical sataining differentiation in the cells studied.
