Abstract

ln this study, microscopic examination was made of pericoronary follicles and of unerupted third molars and maxillary canines at different impaction periods. 280 specimens were examined and observed as to alterations present in the connective tissue and in the odontogenic epithelium. The ocurrence of these alterations was analysed comparatively and statistically aiming at verifying alterations present in the teeth groups and in the different impaction periods. It was concluded that there is statistically significant difference between the teeth groups studied. It was observed, however, that inthe course of time there are few statistically significant alterations.
