With the aim of obtaining a biologic pro¬file of patients with ameloblastoma and to compare the results with previous studies in the literature, a retrospective analysis of ame¬loblastomas of the Oral Pathology Labora¬tory of Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul was perfor¬med. The results indicate that ameloblasto¬mas occur most frequently in younger pati¬ents, principally in women, caucasians, have a plexiform histologic characteristic and are located predominantly in the mandible. Hen¬ce, the biologic profile of patients with ame-loblastoma diagnosed in the Oral Pathology Laboratory of FO-UFRGS is similar to pati¬ents with ameloblastoma diagnosed in different laboratories of the world and described in the literature. Patients age at diagnosis is the only difference observed.Downloads
