Determinação das forças retentivas de bases de dentaduras de alumínio e resinas acrílicas [Title in english no available]

Abstract

A study was presented in which the difference in retention values were determined and compared under various conditions. Denture bases were made of three different materials on two different soft surface models and two different patients. Human saÌiva and water having different surface tension values were used as and intermediate film. The results pointed out that various factors, both in the mouth and on the laboratory models, influence the amount of retention exhibited by denture bases. Further study of certain aspects of retention problem of complete dentures needed to clarify certain points discussed in this study.
