Propuesta de un Modelo de Gestión de la Cadena de Suministro para una Estrategia de Cross Docking

Resumen

El cross-docking es una estrategia de gestión de inventarios ampliamente utilizada en las cadenas de suministro actuales. Optimiza el flujo de inventarios al eliminar puntos intermedios de almacenamiento, consolidar múltiples envíos con destino a la misma ubicación y mejorar el uso de los recursos financieros y logísticos.

La literatura revela una escasez de modelos de gestión de la cadena de suministro enfocados en estrategias de cross-docking. El objetivo principal de este estudio es explorar la literatura existente sobre Gestión de la Cadena de Suministro y cross-docking con el fin de proponer un modelo de gestión de la cadena de suministro para una estrategia de cross-docking.

Para ello, el método de investigación combina técnicas de mapeo científico, una revisión sistemática de la literatura con análisis de contenido y el desarrollo de un modelo para apoyar la toma de decisiones.

Los resultados indican un crecimiento anual de la producción científica en la intersección entre la Gestión de la Cadena de Suministro y el cross-docking; sin embargo, también evidencian vacíos en modelos integrales para la aplicación de esta estrategia.

El modelo propuesto busca facilitar la implementación del cross-docking en pequeñas empresas que no cuentan con demanda fija, aunque todavía requiere pruebas y aplicación práctica.

Por lo tanto, este estudio no solo contribuye a la comprensión del estado actual de la investigación sobre Gestión de la Cadena de Suministro y cross-docking, sino que también propone un modelo que permite la implementación eficiente del cross-docking.
