Digital Twins, BPM, Business Processes, Modular ArchitectureAbstract
The integration of digital twins with business process modeling (BPM) offers significant opportunities to optimize organizational process management. This study proposes a modular architecture for digital twins, structured into layers including data acquisition, middleware, modeling and simulation, predictive and prescriptive analysis, visualization and control, and security and governance. Advanced techniques, such as Bayesian networks, are highlighted to address variability and uncertainty in human and organizational processes. The architecture aims to align technology with strategy, enabling real-time informed decisions. Despite its transformative potential, challenges such as scalability, interoperability, and regulatory compliance are examined. This study contributes to the advancement of digital twin implementation by highlighting its benefits, challenges, and directions for future research.
