Estudo Preliminar Sobre a Distribuição Faciológica da Plataforma Continental Brasileira

Abstract

In accordance with the published bibliography and using their own data, the authors present a preliminary map of the facies distribution of the bottom sedimenst of the Brazilian contimental shelf. The morphology and the sedimentary recovering allow for a division of the shelf in to three main regions: a) north, between Cabo Orange and Parnaíba; b) north-east between Parnaíba and Cabo Frio; c) south, between Cabo frio and Chuí.
