Abstract

Relations between grain size properties and energy level of ocean beaches of coastal zone of the State of Santa Catarina. High-energy beaches prodice unimodal, wellsorted sands with few testural classe. Low-energy beaches produce poorly sorted, sometimes bimodal sands, with a large number of textural classes. Changes in unipopulational or bipopulational sedimentes in a low or high energy environment are also presented.
