Abstract

The monotypic Velisoptera taschi, nov. gen., nov. sp. is another new pterygote insect from the Pallero member of the Bajo de Velis formation, Upper Carboniferous, Argentina. It represents a new family, Velisopteridae, of the Diaphanopterodea.
