ECONOMIA DOS RECURSOS NATURAIS E SEUS INDICADORES DE ESCASSEZ: UMA QUESTÃO DE SUSTENTABILIDADE

Abstract

Economic science has, at least, three ways of leading with environmental questions, depending on the function the environment plays at man's life. Natural resource economics treats the environments as a resource supplier and has traditionaly worked it in terms of inter-generational efficiency. However, sustainable development has provoked change in paradigms: the availability of the resources became an equity subject, instead of only a question of efficiency This article makes a review of the state of the art in this field of the Economy hilighting the mais points that are currently in discussion, especially referring to the development of indicators of the resources scarcity.
