      Abstract

The objective of this article is to argue some aspects of the just-created Health Economics Network for the Brazilian National Health System Management, called REDE ECOS, analyzing its potential and its challenges. Its creation is presented, approaching the reasons for its existence and the lines of work. The main actors are argued, as well as the relations of interdependence between them. The not hierarchic relations between the organizations are discussed, which belong to the different spheres of government and fields of performance. The social capital, institutionalization, support, structure and instruments of coordination, communication and information in the network are still argued. Finally, its potential in the field of the Health Economics is emphasized, either in the public policies implementation, production and dissemination of information or qualification and formation of professionals.
