We are pleased to announce the special issue, to be published in 2021, on Business Process Management (BPM) in the Revista de Informática Teórica e Aplicada (RITA). BPM is a discipline that covers the phases of process identification, process discovery, process analysis, process redesign, process implementation and process monitoring and control. Related to these phases many approaches and technologies have been proposed aiming advances in process documentation, automation and improvement. Therefore, we propose a special issue of RITA, focusing on trends and research related to these advances.

Papers must be written in English, according to the RITA formatting guidelines. Only full papers are accepted for sub- mission. Papers will be refereed through a blind process for technical merit and content.

-  Artificial intelligence in Business Process Management

-  Business Process Visualization

-  Case studies, literature reviews and empirical studies on BPM rese- arch topics

-  Other BPM related topics (IoT, Smart Cities, Social-human aspects, Healthcare processes, Educational processes, Security issues)
