Assisting adolescent women: a report on an experience

Abstract

This paper reports the experience with a group of adolescent women in a Basic Health Center, in the municipality of Santa Maria, RS, Brazil, through an extension project developed by the teaching staff and the academicians of the Nursing and Psychology Courses of Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFSM), whose objective is carrying out integrated actions that provide spaces for reflection and discussion with adolescents. For such purpose, a participative methodology was adopted in which the adolescents effectively perform in the educational process. Didactical workshops provided dynamic activities on the themes and important reflections among the people involved, evidencing the relevance of the activities of this nature at the level of basic care.
