Abstract

The evidence-based practice approach incorporates evidences originated in research, professional clinical competence and the client’s preferences with a view to health care decision-making. Leadership is a crucial component for the development of the nurses’ work mainly when the context requires changes. Thus, in an attempt to offer literature-based inputs for reflections and discussions, we present leadership as a strategy for implementing evidence-based practice in nursing, with a view to stimulating the use of research results in clinical practice and, consequently, improving client care.
