The several activities accomplished that nurses in unities’ internations

Abstract

The study aimed at knowing the activities performed by nurses in internment units of a general hospital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The data have been collected by means of free observation per time sampling, semi-structured interviews and consultation on documents. The subjects were nurses who act in the internment units who were chosen at random. The results showed that the nurse coordinates the care, executes several procedures and provides infrastructure conditions for the development of the collective work. The nurse articulation capacity has been identified both in relation to the nursing team organization and in the organization of the hospital environment.
