Nuances of violence against women: knowing the phenomenon

Abstract

When delving into the world of women’s experience, we faced the challenge to work with women at risk in their marital relations. Objective: to unveil the different nuances of violence against women in their marital relations. A qualitative approach has been used as a methodological reference. For information collection, the technique of Narrative Interview was used, and later submitted to Content Analysis. This study sought to give voice to women facing domestic violence and to evidence the strategies they use to cope with assault and batter in different segments of society: family, relationships, police stations and health centers.
