Abstract

The article relates the experience in childcare nursing consults in a Unit of Family Health, in Santiago city - RS, seeking analyze the importance of this strategy in the promotion of the child nutritional health. Beyond nursing consults directed to the children less than a year of age belonging to the unit area, also was necessary carry home visits, where this is an opportune instrument in the care to the infantile health, considering that the child belongs to a family and to a context of life that should be understood, mainly when the nutrition thematic is worked. It is understood that the childcare becomes possible promote a care destined to the child health needs, in special to the nutrition, because it is a less explored theme by the health professionals.
