Sheltering: the perception of women on the trajectory of childbearing

Abstract

The goal of the study was to know the expectation and perception of women about hospital care during childbirth. It is a qualitative research, of the descriptive-exploratory kind; it was developed on a teaching hospital, having as participants fourteen puerperal women. To the data collection a semi-structured interviews was used; to analyze and interpretation the information we used the Method of Qualitative Analysis of a Situated Phenomenon. The results indicated as one of the themes Perceiving the need of sheltering and welcoming on the trajectory of childbearing which is presented on this article. The obtained information reveal that women expect hospitalar sheltering and welcoming at the institutional, interpersonal and technical dimensions.
