Abstract

We tried to identify the quality of verbal interaction occurred between 3 nurses and 3 patients with AIDS interned in a general hospital, through the amount of information transmitted, based on Theory of Information. The results gotten show that these data need to be worked and improved. We think that theory of information as a research tool, is a valious methodological alternative that can be very useful in other investigations related to verbal interaction. It can help to evaluate the care given to the patient not only by the nursing team but also by the other health professionals. It can also help to evaluate comparative studies.
