Abstract

The present study represents a diagnosis of the nursing auxiliary/patient dyad and the initial phase of development of a project aiming at the optimization of the verbal interaction between nursing team and hospitalized patients. With the specific objective of identifying the interaction matrix between nursing auxiliary and patient, the verbal interactions of subjects studied. The results indicated a predominance of interaction units in the neutral area of the category paradigm of Bales (86,5%), indicating that the interaction of nursing auxiliares with patients is patterned upon, and directed by tasks.
