Acidente com material biológico no trabalhador de enfermagem em um hospital de ensino: estudo caso-controle

Abstract

It is about a control case study aimed at analyzing the association between occupational stress and the discordance between the chrono-type and the working shift of nursing professionals of a hospital in Porto Alegre with the accident with biological material. Interview was carried out with 99 workers who underwent accident (cases) and 232 who did not undergo accident (controls). The data were collected by means of the Job Stress Scale according to the Karasek model and of the Horne-Östberg Scale. The occurrence of accident did not present a statistically significant association with the scores of high requirement in the work (p=0,317); with the diverging chrono-biological profile with the working shift (?=0,563) or with other labor variables eventually connected with accident – working extra hours, working in two jobs (p= 1,000), among others. And, by analyzing the scores of highly-required professionals who work in shifts diverging from the chrono-type, there was no significant difference between the group (c2 Pearson; ?=1,00).
