Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify the lifestyle profile of people with cardiovascular disease (CVD) in a specialized out-patient unit in the municipality of São Paulo, Brazil, and to compare lifestyle profiles with the social-demographic characteristics of these people. The instrument Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP I) was applied in 22 people with CVD that were followed up in that out-patient unit. It was verified that people with CVD presented worse profile in the exercise domain (average 2.18) and better profile in the selffulfillment domain (average 3.26). Obtained results provided information to follow up patients during Nursing Consultation.
