Abstract

This study is a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory research aimed at understanding nursing professors’ concept of care. The information was collected using focal group technique. The subjects were nursing professors of a Nursing Undergraduate course, and the information was analyzed by Thematic Analysis, which evidenced the category, Care Understanding, among others. The report on the professors’ concept of care shows differences regarding their educational practices underlining technical issues. Thus, the findings show that these concepts were based on personal experiences and lacked political, humanistic, philosophical, and theoretical grounds.
