Abstract

The specie Phrynops williamsi (Rhodin & Mittermeier, 1983) has been recorded for Uruguai and Pelotas rivers, however thesedata are insufficient for the knowledge of their ecology and real geographic distribution. In this paper is presented a new recordof P. williamsi for the Peixe river, tributary of Uruguai river in Midwest of Santa Catarina, thus extending the information aboutthe habits of this specie.
