The genus Eriosema (DC.) Desv. (Leguminosae-Papilionoideae) in Paraná and Santa Catarina states, Brazil

Abstract

Eriosema is a pantropical genus, with ca. 150 species, phylogenetically related to the genus Rhynchosia Lour. In this study ten taxa were confirmed: Eriosema campestre Benth. var. campestre, E. campestre var. macrophyllum (Grear) Fortunato, E. crinitum var. discolor Fortunato, E. crinitum var. pulchellum Benth., E. glabrum Mart. ex Benth., E. heterophyllum Benth., E. longifolium Benth., E. obovatum Benth., E. rufum var. macrostachyum (DC.) G. Don and E. tacuaremboense Arechav. Eriosema heterophyllum stands as a new ocurrence for Santa Catarina. The current study presents identification key, descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations, and data about periods of flowering and fruiting, geografic distribution and habitats of each taxon.
