Abstract

Rhynchosia Lour. is a pantropical genus, with more than 200 species, and is closely related to Eriosema (DC.) Desv. In Santa Catarina, Rhynchosia is represented by five species: Rhynchosia corylifolia Mart. ex Benth., R. diversifolia Mich., R. edulis Griseb., R. lineata Benth. And R. phaseoloides (Sw.) DC. In Paraná, with the exception of R. lineata, also occur R. hauthalii Harms ex O. Kuntze, R. melanocarpa Grear and R. rojasii Hassler.  Rhynchosia lineata stands as a new ocurrence for Santa Catarina and  R. diversifolia for both States. The current study presents identification key, descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations, data about flowering and fruiting phenology, geographic distribution and habitat of each taxon.
