Taxonomic synopsis of the family Lauraceae north in the Atlantic Forest Brazilian

Abstract

This work consists of a taxonomic synopsis of Lauraceae in the northern part of the Atlantic Forest, between the states of Ceará and Sergipe. Twenty-four species are cited, and the genus Ocotea Aubl. is the most representative with fourteen species, followed by Nectandra Rol. ex Rottb. with three species and Aiouea Aubl., Aniba Aubl., Cassytha L., Cinnamomum Schaeff, Cryptocarya R.Br., Licaria Aubl. and Persea Mill., with one species each. Identification keys, morphological diagnoses, data on geographical distribution, as well as information on the phenology and popular names are presented.
