Abstract

Eragrostis tenuifolia is native to Indochina, Southwest Asia, Madagascar and Tropical Africa. It has been introduced and is found in Australia, the British Islands, South America, Central America, Mexico and Hawaian. In Brazil, it has been located in the Federal District and in the States of Goiás, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. This paper aimed to document the occurrence of E. tenuifolia in Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso. For the study were performed review of literature and herbaria, collections e observation of populations. None specimen of E. tenuifolia was found in the herbaria reviewed. However, we found the species in the urban and rural areas of most municipalities in the State where it occurs preferably along the main and secondary roads, following occupation routes and intensification of human activity.
