Gochnatia mollissima (Malme) Cabrera (Mutisieae-Asteraceae): first collection after half a century without records

Abstract

Gochnatia mollissima, shrubby species of the Asteraceae family, is collected after more than 50 years since its last record in herbaria, in the village of Cantagalo, on the southern city of Viamão, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. With this record, the species must pass the category of “probably extinct” to “critically endangered” in the list of threatened species of Rio Grande do Sul State.
