Abstract

Ipomoea is the genus with the highest specific richness belonging to the family Convolvulaceae with 600-700 taxa. It is represented in Brazil by approximately 140 species. A survey of Ipomoea confirmed the occurrence of 32 taxa in Rio Grande do Sul. Analytical key, brief morphologic descriptions, data of geographical distribution, habitat and images of the taxa of Ipomoea found in State are provided.
