The genus Kyllinga Rottb. (Cyperaceae) in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil

Abstract

This paper presents a taxonomic study of genus Kyllinga Rottb. in Rio Grande do Sul state. This work was based on bibliographic and herbaria revision, besides collections in several regions of the state and populational observations in field were made. Four species were recorded in Rio Grande do Sul: Kyllinga brevifolia Rottb., K. odorata Vahl, K. pumila Michx. e K. vaginata Lam. Analytical keys, descriptions, illustrations, data on geographic distribution, habitat and comments are presented.
