This work describes the importance of producing a set of thematic maps to analyze the vulnerability situation of the Rubem Berta neighborhood, as well as detailing all the processes involved in this production, from defining the users to classifying thematic information, resulting in the creation of the maps. The Social Vulnerability Index (SVI), developed by the Institute of Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas Aplicadas (IPEA), is an important and strategic analysis tool for urban and regional planning, especially for understanding urban socio-spatial inequalities. This cartographic production aims to be a tool for both political-educational use in educational environments and for seeking recognition and rights from the mapped community. This work was developed from an analysis perspective of the SVI, which comprises three important dimensions: Human Capital, Urban Infrastructure, and Income and Employment. Its overarching goal is to democratize access to cartographic data information for the general population, providing support for the implementation and planning of public policies in territories most susceptible to social vulnerability.
