Geographies of youths: the construction of the state of art in brazilian postgraduate

Although young, like its research subjects, it can be said that we are witnessing the formation of a new subfield of research in Brazilian Geography: the Geographies of Youths. Several postgraduate studies in the field of Geography have focused their efforts on investigating the relationships of young people with different elements of geographic analysis, such as, for example, the city, the countryside, power disputes over space, school, the teaching of Geography, among others. The main objective of this text is to present the first analyzes of the state of art study of researches about Youths, in the field of Geography, in Brazilian postgraduate courses. To this end, a bibliographic survey was carried out from the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), in order to compose the meeting, selection and analysis of the investigations produced between 2008 and 2020, a time frame found in the 41 researches graduate programs selected for analysis. Among the main results evidenced, it was verified that most of the works are master's, with greater temporal concentration between the years 2016 and 2019. The productions are concentrated mainly in the Midwest and South regions of the country. The Federal University of Goiás (UFG) was the institution that most presented research on Youths in Geography, with Lana de Souza Cavalcanti being the researcher with the highest number of supervised works. Most Postgraduate Programs, according to the CAPES assessment, were classified with concept 6.
