Abstract

The street market endures in time contributing with connecting and sharing experiences, more precisely, developing space. This paper was born in a ongoing research about the develop of Vitória da Conquista‟s geographic space, based on Bahia‟s southwest, by the interpretation of Ceasa Market photos and memories that individuals have about this place. This study permit comprehension about how spaces in town acquire new reasons and concepts as cultural, economical and social activities are developed, and how this market reinforce traditions and social relations, making itself stronger as a representation of people‟s memories and as a immaterial cultural heritage of Vitória da Conquista.
