Abstract

This article aims to discuss the importance of the study and publicization of social innovation actions and associate them as precursors for the consolidation of effective public policies in the border region. The research goes through concepts such as public problem, public arena and the public, from the perspective of pragmatic sociology. It seeks to relate the full development of borders through the implementation of public policies built from the ecosystems of social innovation. These, in turn, are intrinsic to the collectives formed in border territory and acting directly in the experience felt about public problems. A presentation of the public policies of Innovation in Brazil in recent years is developed and the actions of social innovation are characterized, building a parallel between both.
