NOTES ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF QUALITY OF DEMOCRACY

Abstract

One of the main problems of research in the social sciences refers to the quality of democracy. Gathering a wide group of researchers, the discussions about this theme has been influenced mainly by the controversy about democracy´s development and its functioning parameters. Consequently, the concepts of quality of democracy are multiple. The objective of this paper is to examine some of the main contributions that analyze this question, as well as to argue about the limits and potentialities of this issue.
