Abstract

This article proposes a theoretical-critical investigation of the essay as a living and procedural form of thought, contrasting it with fixed and conclusive models of knowledge production. Based on an essayistic approach as a method, which rejects linearity, embraces incompleteness, and embraces wandering as a form of rigor, it articulates a constellation of authors such as Goethe, Agamben, Blanchot, and Freud to explore themes such as potency, listening, fragmentation, and transformation. The aim is to understand the essay not only as a genre but also as an ethical and political gesture of writing. Ultimately, the text opens up possibilities for rethinking the place of thought in contemporary times, suggesting a critical practice that values hesitation, care, and openness as modes of resistance to the logic of productivity and the fixation of meaning.
