Abstract

Eluza, a renowned Brazilian artist, professor, and researcher in the field of dance, began her journey in this captivating domain at the age of four. Her dedication to school-related dance activities led her to significant accomplishments. Holding a master’s and a doctorate from the United States, Eluza established a strong presence as a researcher and artist in the country. At 65, she is the founder and co-director of the EluzArtes Project in Vitória, where she continues to inspire and share her passion for dance through workshops, performances, and training courses. Eluza stands out as a remarkable example of vitality and enduring commitment to the art of dance in the state of Espírito Santo and Brazil. This interview was conducted in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, on November 23, 2022.

Doutoranda e mestra (2022) em Educação Física pela Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES) na linha de pesquisa "Estudos Históricos e Socioculturais da Educação Física, Esporte, Lazer e Saúde". Graduanda em História pela UFES, especialista em Docência para a Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (2022) pelo Instituto Federal da Paraíba (IFPB) e especialista em Docência do Ensino Básico e Superior (2022) pela Faculdade Estratego (GRUPO ESTRATEGO). Cofundadora do Grupo de Pesquisa Dança nas Américas e na Austrália: Natural, Interpretativa, Internacional e Ginástica (DAANCING RG). Membra do Centro de Memória da Educação Física e do Esporte Capixaba (CEMEFEC). Membra do Grupo de Pesquisa Memórias, Narrativas e Histórias das/nas escolas capixabas. Membra do Laboratório de Pesquisas em Teoria da História e Interdisciplinaridades (LAPETHI). Possui interesse nos temas acerca da História da Educação Física, História da Educação, História da Dança, Formação de Professores e Currículo.
