Siren Aquarium. Sex Siren as a possible mean towards collective pleasure.

Abstract

To build a community in the south region of Latinamerica provides the opportunity review of rethink the ways in which we articulate the collective. Ballroom, a community which holds several decades of history in United States of America and Europe, positions  itself in Buenos Aires in the last past years, allowing its members to build their own South Latinamerican  narrative. That is how, from the personal experience of inhabiting and explorating Sex Siren, one of the competitive categories of the Ballroom Scene, new tensions arise on how to replicate the established logics of this LGBTQIAPN+ subculture, becoming a new performatic event: the Siren Aquarium: a collective, erotic performance that allows to expand the power of Sex Siren and expand it beyond the competition dynamics, to find a new posible ways of building other dialogues between the bodies and new ways of building the scene. Self-management, the need of generating a written register of a category originated from sexual work and the possibility of finding a trench of south American latin resistance within erotism are the central axes of this article.
